Action Steps

Action steps are what you (the teacher) and your students will be doing for each section of the lecture. It is important to state who is doing what in this list of steps. For example: “The teacher will hook students’ attention by stating waffles are better than pancakes.” The students who disagree will then want to debate, so the following step could be “students will debate waffles and pancakes by providing evidence.” This will be the beginning of a lesson for a bigger debate or argumentative essay unit.
